  • Wingspan: 9.5 to 9.8 ft.
  • Habitat : Rocky shrubland, forest, or savanna in North America
  • Conservation Status: Critically Endangered (Population increasing)
  • Fun Fact: The California condor is the largest flying bird in North America, with a wingspan of nearly 10 feet. In the late 1980s, it went extinct in the wild. As a result of a breeding and reintroduction program, there are now 336 California condors back in their natural habitat!
