About the Great Horned Owl

  • Wingspan: 4.5 to 4.6 ft.
  • Habitat : Forests, prairies, tundras, deserts, rainforests, and cities in North America and some parts of South America
  • Conservation Status: Least Concern (Population stable)
  • Fun Fact: Along with the red-tailed hawk, the great horned owl is the main predator of the American crow. To get back at them, murders of crows will frequently mob great horned owls and harass them until they fly away!
