  • Wingspan: 7.6 to 9.3 ft.
  • Habitat : Mountainous regions in Europe, Asia, and Africa
  • Conservation Status: Near Threatened (Population decreasing)
  • Fun Fact: More than most other vultures, the bearded vulture is known to hunt live prey, particularly tortoises. Bearded vultures will pick up tortoises, fly to a great height, and drop the tortoise to crack its shell!
