Fun Fact: Gyrfalcons have historically been used for falconry. In 12th century China, the emperor of the Liao dynasty imposed a tax on the trade of gyrfalcons, which was wildly unpopular and was one of the causes of the Jurchen rebellion which eventually overthrew the dynasty!
